Troy Redfern is on fire again with Gasoline

Troy Redfern is on fire again with Gasoline the slide guitar summer anthem second single from the forthcoming album Wings of Salvation

After six albums in less than two years, you’d think Troy Redfern would be ready for a breather…but no; we’ve already had one taster from his next album due on September 23rd, which is called The Wings of Salvation. Now we have another tasty teaser…and it is a resonator-laden slice of heavy blues loveliness that promises a great deal for that new release. (It will have to be special (it will be) to top his Fire Cosmic masterpiece.) Troy, with his usual awareness, says of the new single, Gasoline: “Right now, we’re bombarded with a lot of negative news in the media. Lyrically, I wanted to put something out there that was the opposite to that.”

He succeeds like a budgie in a grain store (explanation available!) Heavy rock-tinged blues and a chorus ripe for joining in make it an immediate, quality song with a cracking (albeit short) solo. The sepia-tinged video of the band in a desert setting and therefore extremely long leads is great fun too.

Troy promises the new album has “ten infectious slide guitar savvy tracks”: mine is already on order.
