Bluesdoodles Recorded Music Reviews 2020 a challenging year, reviewed 99 albums, 24 are Stupendous, 56 are Wonderful & 9 are Great Listening
Matthew Robb – Dead Men Have No Dreams an album of thoughtfulness, dreaming, and reality wrapped in a mix of country and blues. It is a very easy, at times challenging listen when you hear the carefully crafted words. Give it a listen if you like the Guthrie school of storytelling and simple but effective backing.
Jack Broadbent slides into Moonshine Blue an album that is not the blues…it is way more complex than that and embraces many a genre as Jack takes you through a journey of styles of playing and composition.
Katy Hobgood Ray featuring Dave Ray – I Dream of Water A slightly laid back album a wonderful countrified Blues album for your collection
Nightblade cut through Ignorance Is Bliss the album as a whole is like listening to the early days of the NWOBHM but with some newer tinges of 80s rock in there too. I bet they are a blast live and that their next album will be even better.
Dennis Jones plays for You Soft Hard and Loud is a Wonderful varied and accessible blues album for all fan of the blues, not just guitarists like me.
