Tempt Releases Debut Album Runaway
Tempt Releases Debut Album Runaway, the band is young and the classic rock vibe spills out across every track on an album lovers of rock would never Runaway from. Formed in New York City the music is created with a contemporary sting overlaying the foundation of the legacy of 1980’s rock. With the swagger of youth they open with a vocal blast Comin’ On To You and the rock guitar and drum beat gives the song shape and form.
Tempt have been concentrating on the studio album, whilst giging locally. The attention to detail is evident with compelling tracks that include Paralyzed, slower melodic musings in Run Away demonstrating the vocal prowess of Zach Allen. Added into the mix is the essential guitar from Harrison Marcello that varies across the album; his compelling guitar is fast furious, loud, assertive and then when necessary gentle with heavy riffs, demanding riffs and hooks for the vocalist to pick up the baton. The guitar playing shines like a gem reflected in the track Sapphire.
“We’re not ashamed to just let things rock, to have ripping guitar solos and have amazing vocals and songs with huge hooks,” offers guitarist Harrison Marcello, by way of explanation. “We want to have people sing along and have a good time at our shows.” This desire to entertain shines through, the album does not have deep and meaningful numbers it is a rock album with choruses that live audiences can recognise pick up and join in.
The songs change in tempo there is texture and interest with the quirky Neuro Child sitting alongside Aamina, seen twice with the re-mix closes the album a super-charged track that will ensure Tempt is remembered and the only running will be back to put Runaway back on to pour through the speakers.
Throughout the album there are hints of influences from Van Halen through to Rival Sons; there is no doubt that Tempt are still attempting to develop their own distinctive sound. That said, Runaway is a debut album that rocks the classic sound into now with verve and energy of youth setting their stall out and demanding deserved attention.
