On Tour Harry Pane releases Changing

On Tour Harry Pane releases Changing

On Tour Harry Pane releases Changing

This four track EP is a mellow snippet of Harry Pane’s approach to acoustic singer/songwriter Americana infused music. Guitar and voice perfect accompaniment when chilling on a Summer’s day.
Yes, Changing has a feel of Americana, in reality, Changing is guitar and vocals they cajoles and allows the song to be at the heart of the stage where Harry Pane sits and plays. The four tracks have a simplicity that charms with guitar backdrop curling around the lyrical story. Changing opening number shapes the reality of being ready for change it is the only certainty so be ready. Ghosts picks up the ethereal opening with sea on a beach. The guitar sounds at times like Don McClean. The percussive quality of wood and zing of wire are used to good effect. The music fills the space as we explore Karma’s Prey. The lyrics hit home the moment may be bleak and grey but optimism gives the track a glimmer of sunnier times. The tempo mood and feel changes as the guitar sound is pure country-blue and Cold Light Of Day closes out and EP that gives a glimmer of the breadth and scope of a talented Singer-songwriter. The honesty in the lyrics gives a personal depth of tone as he ponders and explores his relationship with his father through his evocative music.

Bluesdoodles gives this CD SEVEN pawprint half inchdoodle paws out of TEN ….

JoeLouisWalker_01_byMarilynStringer

Following on from the release of his latest album Everybody Wants A Piece on Provogue/Mascot Label Group, Blues Hall of Fame inductee and four-time Blues Music Award winner Joe Louis Walker will be returning to the UK for 5 special shows.

His new album cements his legacy as a prolific torchbearer for the blues.  Looking back on his rich history, Walker shares, “I’d like to be known for the credibility of a lifetime of being true to my music and the blues. Sometimes I feel I’ve learned more from my failures, than from my success. But that’s made me stronger and more adventurous. And helped me create my own style. I’d like to think that when someone puts on one of my records they would know from the first notes, ‘That’s Joe Louis Walker.'”

Always an artist deeply expressive lyrically, Walker continues to write and sing about themes that are universal.  On “Black & Blue” he talks about a love affair that’s falling apart, but there’s an effort to keep it going.  He offers, “The lyric ‘Let’s find a quiet place, A place out of town…We Need to talk this thru, Be honest & True’ says it all in trying to save the relationship.”  He cites the title track as a composition that might not have a deep meaning, but in presenting the thought, “Everybody wants a piece of your love,” offers a double entendre that speaks for itself.  With a deep history and background in gospel, Walker looks towards Wade in the Water” as an instant all-time favorite.  He reveals, “The inspirational lyric ‘The water is deep, the water is cold, it chills my body, BUT NOT MY SOUL” is expressing my belief that the spiritual will carry you through when the physical can’t.”

A true powerhouse guitar virtuoso, unique singer and prolific songwriter, he has toured extensively throughout his career, performed at the world’s most renowned music festivals, and earned a legion of dedicated fans.  Walker’s 1986 debut album Cold Is the Night on HighTone announced his arrival in stunning fashion, and his subsequent output has only served to further establish Walker as one of the leading bluesmen on the scene.

INTROVERTIGO is the follow up to 2015’s critically acclaimed Dear Silence Thieves which spawned to rock radio hits Backbite and Fetch Your Spade.

In 2015, Patlansky toured 10 countries with Joe Satriani read why we loved that night of live music and guitar fireworks in Cardiff HERE
It was unsurprising the Dan Patlansky was nominated by Classic Rock as one of their hotly tipped new artists of 2015. Patlansky said this about the new album, “INTROVERTIGO draws from all my influences from Audioslave, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jim Hendrix, Rival Sons and beyond. Her incredible voice has already moved guitar legends Jeff Beck, Slash, Joe Bonamassa and Buddy Guy to perform with her on records and live; making her, in the words of Classic Rock Magazine “guitarists go-to girl and the UK have firmly taken Beth to their hearts after recent stirring headline performances at the Royal Albert Hall, The Roundhouse and Hampton Court Palace.
The highly emotional, limited edition bonus track, ‘Mama This One’s For You’, reveals that she’s not afraid to tell her mother how much she loves her. “It’s probably the most important song to me on the record. I finally got how blessed I was to have my Mom.”
This album isn’t about the problems Beth’s faced in her life. Instead, she’s choosing to find the good things that have been there all along: accepting and loving her parents for who they really are, appreciating a good husband, facing her fears head on and ultimately finding ways to heal and convert that positive energy into music that moves people. This is an incredibly moving, self written and composed record that’s going to reach people on a very personal level, because a one-of-a-kind artist found the perfect formula for exposing her very private inner voice and empowering it with her legendary outer voice.

Kaz

Kaz Hawkins Band: ‘Feelin Good’ Album Release and UK Tour May/June 2016

Multi-award winning Kaz Hawkins is Northern Ireland’s very own blues and soul darling.

Kaz Tour

The Belfast born singer-songwriter’s high energy, original shows, her 1950’s style swing-dress-meets-Dr Martens look and her ability to closely connect with the audience, make Kaz one of the most popular blues artists in the UK…

Underground for years as a secret songwriter, Kaz Hawkins is now established as one the biggest performers to come out of Northern Ireland. Locally called “a vocal force” on stage, she envelops the fighting spirit of a true powerhouse singer.
Kaz is much-loved for her deep, powerful voice, original songwriting and down to earth attitude; she brings fun to every performance & is loved not only by her fans, but anyone who meets her. She has lived and sung ‘The Blues’, yet has much more to offer across differing genres – soul, rockabilly, folk & more.

Kaz’s new album ‘Feelin Good‘ more than a collection of songs; it’s a progression of Kaz’s work, it is power and the passion that is Kaz Hawkins.

Feelin Good‘ will be officially launched on Saturday 28th May at Belfast’s iconic Empire Music Hall, before the band head out across the UK for their biggest tour to date.
