The Kentucky Headhunters Invite The U.K. On Safari

Following on from last year’s performance at the Ramblin’ Man Fair, Grammy Award-winners The Kentucky Headhunters are set to return to the UK in October, for a handful of shows in support of twelfth album, On Safari’Released last November by Plowboy Records/Practice House Records, the southern rock LP tips the hat to family and the southern way of life in the USA.
Bluesdoodles loved the album “On Safari, is a jukebox of sounds that never crash and burn, they all fit into the album” Why the Album title On Safari? The music is taken from the inspiration gained on their first time trip overseas. Pushed out of their comfort zone by Richard’s son John Fred Young they traveled to Europe. The result is music that sparkles with the excitement of traveling and being On Safari. Band members/brothers Richard and Fred Young poignantly lost their father just three days before heading into the studio to record the album, which they have dedicated in his memory.  Read what else we said HERE
Southern Rock and Live music fans now have eight opportunities to catch The Kentucky Headhunters play their music live, loud and let you join in On Safari with a band that will always excite.  With their trademark rock n roll music this Grammy winning, chart-topping  band will never disappoint when you want fun.
Throughout their envious five decade career, the band have toured the USA extensively, but only ventured to Europe for the first time in 2016. The band credits Richard Young’s son, John Fred, and his Black Stone Cherry band mates for pushing them out of their comfort zone to make the trek abroad, where many of the Headhunters’ rock influences call home.

Lauded by Billboard as a “great American rock ‘n’ roll band,” don’t miss this rare chance to catch The Kentucky Headhunters live, and witness their one of a kind sound that has given them the longevity in this industry that many acts only dream of.

For two decades, Joe Satriani has travelled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star “G3” guitar extravaganza. His studio and live recordings have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide to date. Of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them.

Satriani has been spreading such musical waters for a quarter century now. In addition to Surfing With The Alien and Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards, he has released such classics as The Extremist (1992), Crystal Planet (1998) and Super Colossal (2006), and having moved 10 million albums and counting, he’s now the biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. (Satch’s popularity isn’t limited to rock alone: In 2010, hip-hop artist and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj used a sample of Satriani’s much-loved ballad “Always With Me, Always With You” as the basis for her Gold single, “Right Thru Me.”

In 2011, Satriani recreated his National Anthem performance for the Opening Day of the Oakland A’s historic 2002 season in the Brad Pitt movie Moneyball.

In addition to being a consistent sell-out solo performer, Satriani has also, since 1996, filled venues with his G3 concert tour – three hours-plus of music featuring Satch and a rotating cast of fellow guitar gods like Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Eric Johnson and Steve Morse, among others.

And if that weren’t enough, there’s even a supergroup – Chickenfoot , Satriani’s all-star assemblage that includes singer Sammy Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony (Van Halen) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), already has two smash albums, with more, no doubt, on the way.

In 2013, Satriani released his 14th studio album Unstoppable Momentum to critical acclaim. Preceding his November 2015 UK tour, Joe will release a brand new studio album in July.
