Fight Another Day with Dan Reed Network UK 2017Frontiers Music Srl released Dan Reed Network’s latest studio album “Fight Another Day” on Friday June 3rd, 2016. The album marked a significant and anticipated return of one of the most infectious and gifted bands to come out in the melodic rock world in the second part of the 1980’s.

Originally formed in Portland, Oregon, Dan Reed Network packed out local clubs from late 1984 through 1986 with their compelling mix of musical styles ranging from hard rock, funk and soul.

To coincide with their UK & European tour, Dan Reed Network talk about the concept behind music video for their sublime and exhilarating new single, ‘Champion’

“Champion deals with the concept that we are what we eat, not just our physical health but our soul’s well-being,” says Dan Reed. “It’s about surrounding ourselves with people that feed our dreams, support and push us to be more creative, more alive, and to enjoy the ride.”

“The video portrays the intensity in the eyes of people from every walk of life. Having the band performing in front of the rear projected screens was to immerse those of us who wrote and will be performing this song live to visually state we all live in this bubble of light where every person we meet brings new insights, lessons, strength, and if we’re lucky, wisdom.”

Fight Another Day with Dan Reed Network UK 2017

Fight Another Day “The stars aligned perfectly to have it all come together and make this album, and to have Derek Shulman, who originally signed DRN to Polygram in 1987, once again being in our lives as our co-manager and A&R man, brings us full circle.”

“As for the sound and approach of the album the band and I thought it would be a great experiment and interesting challenge to revisit what endeared the band to so many back in the day and deliver a rock record with funk and soul elements, strong melodies, but this time around incorporate even edgier lyrics while not losing sight that this release needed to be uplifting, infectious, and most of all, powerful when performed live. The title Fight Another Day represents the fact that after 25 years we were able to gravitate back to the passion we discovered playing together all those years ago, and battle once more!”

The band looks forward to the world’s response to this new labour of love and this testament to the bonds of friendship and musical chemistry!

Heavy Chimes with Glenn Hughes Resonate

Heavy Chimes with Glenn Hughes Resonate

Sometimes you wonder why/where an album got its name, was there any thought or reason in the choice. That definitely cannot be said about Resonate, Glenn Hughes brand of heavy rock reverberates through the eleven tracks. The vibrations are good, strong and click with your musical radar instantly you want to rock out with Glenn and his band.

Opening with Heavy the hook from the guitar reels you in slowly and the vocals from Glenn pulls you deep into the groove full of deep bass lines and rock that echoes in your soul resonating against memories and yet it is fresh and new so very twenty-first century.  The whole album has a feeling that is a continuation of a story already sketched out vaguely. The album is the finished project fleshed out, full of chords, deep and dark rock, also has a sleek shiny side.  Resonate makes perfect sense of the Glenn Hughes musical journey. It is the finished article.  The reality is this is his first solo album for eight years, featuring his live solo band, Soren Anderson on guitars and co-producer; Pontus Enborg drumming and keys courtesy of Lachy Doley.  Add into the mix the guest appearance of Red Hot Chilli Peppers Chad Smith a long-time friend and drummer who opens and closes the album.

Rock is about power, here the energy is in perfect balance. Vocals, strong harmonising with the instrumentation with a slightly dangerous edgy feel of Flow meets the full-blown organ led extravaganza of Steady. There is nothing steady, mundane or controlled about this fast-moving track that dips its toes deep in the pool that is coloured the deepest purple.

Half way through the album we are deep in the whirling heavy beats that define the album God Of Money is a heavy anthem that defines this album. BUT, then the unexpected How Long, opening with a juicy heavy beat with Glen vocalising with a growling curl “What kind of world?” Resonate is hot can this be sustained? Yes, with a change of tempo a softer ballad with a gentle and empathetic duet of keys and vocals, Pontus adds a harder beat with drums that keeps this from being another maudling rock ballad.

The closing finally of the tracks bring in funk, glitter and glam this is heavy rock that resonates through your music DNA. You know as the last notes of Long Time Gone you recognise this is a classic album that will stand the test of time it will not be long before it is spun again.

Heavy Single from Glenn Hughes Resonate Album

Premiered online worldwide on Tuesday 20th September.   Glenn Hughes’ official music video for his new single “Heavy”. from his new studio album “Resonate” which is released worldwide by Frontiers Music Srl on Friday 4th November 2016.

The album features his live solo band members, Soren Andersen (guitars and co-producer), Pontus Engborg (drums) and newcomer to his band, Lachy Doley (keyboards), in addition to long-time friend and drummer, Chad Smith (of Red Hot Chili Peppers), who joined them in the studio for the opening and closing numbers.

Having listened to the single, all I can say is Wow there is rocking intensity from the opening drums as cymbals clash, Glenn’s vocals, huge keyboard chords  to the last full-on musical  cascade of rock with the last heavy squeal from Glenn. Heavy is rock with staying power, the title may be Heavy but this is rock that grooves, there is not a static moment. There is a deftness of touch that makes this rock that is infectious.

“FIGHT ANOTHER DAY”
AND JUNE 2016 EUROPEAN TOUR DATES

Frontiers Music Srl will release DAN REED NETWORK’s brand new album Fight Another Day on Friday June 3rd, 2016. The new album marks the anticipated return of one of the most infectious and gifted bands to come out in the melodic rock world in the second part of the 1980’s. Originally formed in Portland, Oregon, DRN packed out local clubs from late 1984 through 1986 with their infectious mixture of hard rock, funk and soul. The album will be supported by a European tour in June, including a performance at the Sweden Rock Festival on June 10th, and an album release concert at the 100 Club in London on June 15th.

“It’s been 25 years since our last studio album The Heat was released, says Dan Reed, “and to be honest, I never envisioned making another DRN album despite countless people encouraging us to do so. With a mixture of fate and a collective of trusted friends and supporters in the business coming to the table, I’m excited to say we are poised to release a brand new record entitled Fight Another Day on Frontiers, home of many artists that we in fact admired back when we were first hitting the scene and before.”

“As for the sound and approach of the album, the band and I thought it would be a great experiment and interesting challenge to revisit what endeared the band to so many back in the day and deliver a rock record with funk and soul elements, strong melodies, but this time around incorporate even edgier lyrics while not losing sight that this release needed to be uplifting, infectious, and most of all, powerful when performed live. Fight Another Day says Dan Reed Network

Dan Reed Network are back with Fight Another Day. The title sums up the ups and down of a network that fades but is never completely silenced. Originally formed in 1984 packing local clubs in Portland, Oregon with a mix of sounds comprising hard rock twisted and turned with deep shadows of funk, soul and pop. Three successful albums and then silence as the band disbands. The Dan Reed Network Story re-kindles like a phoenix as the band re-forms with original members for 25th Anniversary gig. The magic and excitement rekindled. Touring again and now a fourth studio album Fight Another Day. Dan says “The title ‘Fight Another Day’ represents the fact that after 25 years we were able to gravitate back to the passion we discovered playing together all those years ago, and battle on once more!”

Now for the music it is what the fans loved long deep melodies, Rock that explores all the facets of the sound that is broad and deep happily taking on layers of funk, twists of soul and a catchy line, chorus or tune. The line-up has changed slightly but the essence of the signature funk rock sound is still as strong as ever.

The dance floor is the place to be for the funky The Brave the bass provides the power that drives the rhythm while Dan’s vocals curl around the sound that has an infectious quality. The swish of cymbals the deep funk rhythm and This Whole World Infected is intoned, the lyrics are dark with a dystopian edge and the catchy flow that is Dan Reed Network’s rock with a beat that infects your soul. The tracks unfold the album has a sinuous and seamless movement. The choreography of sound creates a sound scape of words often thought-provoking against a rock melody that wraps you in a comfort blanket of sound. The album touches on the problems of society and by track eight we have an uplift in beat with Save The World, simple stripped back and imploring for someone to take a chance and Save The World. No answers but the question who is going to save the world needs to be answered very soon. Given the turbulence of the Dan Reed Network, Reunite seems an apt title to include again that curling melodic beat nothing grinds it is harmonising on tiers of sound. The keys add interest and together with the guitar chords acts as a foil for the vocals with funky bass and drums that keep an urgency so that nothing drifts into a blurred mess of indistinctive sound.

The album opens with a modern electro swirl, as Divided gets the fourth studio album underway. By the time we reach the closing track the band has explored sounds that take you on a musical adventure, the band is definitely Standing Tall as the last notes fade with Funk Rock reinvented for today while still true to the fans of the 1980’s.

INGLORIOUS – New Hard Rock Band – Album and Tour Dates

Inglorious are totally Glorious

Frontiers Music Srl is exceptionally delighted to present one of the most talented new Hard Rock bands to emerge from the British underground scene: INGLORIOUS!

INGLORIOUS are five young men with a mutual love and respect of the classics of Hard Rock music, big guitar riffs, and soulful vocals. Their influences stem from iconic rock and roll shrine of Rock albums from the 1970s – many years before the band members were born.

Formed in February 2014, the band is fronted by Nathan James, who made a name for himself having sung for the multi-platinum selling Trans-Siberian Orchestra, andScorpions guitar legend Uli Jon Roth. Nathan was looking for like-minded musicians that desired to make incredible rock music in a very honest fashion.

Inspired by musical giants such as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Bad Company, Aerosmith, the band has recently completed the recording of their self titled debut album which will see the light of day in February 2016.

The band’s song “Breakaway” has already found its way onto Planet Rock’s playlist.

Inglorious will appear live at the Planet Rockstock Festival in Trecco Bay, UK on December 4th and are working to set more shows around the release of the album.

Inglorious is comprised of Nathan James (lead vocals), Wil Taylor (rhythm guitarist),Andreas Eriksson (lead guitarist), Colin Parkinson (bass) and Phil Beaver (drums).
