New Song Love and Pain from Doyle Bramhall II

New Song Love and Pain from Doyle Bramhall II from his forthcoming album Shades –  Out October 5th 2018 on Provogue/Mascot Label Group.

Shades following his critically acclaimed fourth record Rich Man. Bramhall is known both for his guitar playing, His exceptional and distinctive style makes him in demand by Eric Clapton, Roger Waters. Elton John and the late Gregg Alman and may more. Combining this with his skilful Singing and songwriting Shades promises to shine a light on this talent once again.

The album is a mix of styles from grungy blues, raucous rock and soothing soul with a pinch of psychedelia.

Bluesdoodles watched the video perfectly shot in moody black and white.   (Schhhh…let  you into a secret… we are loving the album which arrived at Bluesdoodles tower a few days ago – full review to follow soon…). The album features Eric Clapton, Norah Jones, Greyhounds and Tedeschi Trucks.

This is a gritty number with a melodic soulful rocky instrumentation and delivery. It is the lyrics that are at the heart of the song. Doyle Bramhall II demonstrates his skilful manipulation of words as he explores gun violence. His inspiration was another dark episode involving guns following a concert Massacre in Las Vegas last year.  The delivery is dark as the cinematography of the video and words he captures Love and Pain on this superbly produced number.
