Debbie Bond; always blows in the wind of Alabama blues with the combination of sweet and soulful vocals and the cascading keys from her partner Rick Asherson who also co-wrote ‘Winds Of Change’ a single that is powerful, political and perfect for the trouble times the world is navigating through at the moment. This is not the personal it is looking at the bigger picture, our precious delicate planet whose nature needs to be respected and nurtured so that balance is re-gained. The vocals howl with passion and rage. We need to listen and take action to hear the voices of the disposed, under-privileged and address climate change now before it is too late.
Once again Debbie has captured the spirit of the Blues and distilled the music to send our a message for today. This is not historical blues looking back but modern blues looking forward urging us to look, and take action for change. Winds of Change, passionate, relevant modern a blues holler demanding to be heard – make a date in your diary to see Debbie play live you will be delighted.
This is what Bluesdoodles said about Debbie & Rick at Blues On The Farm 2016 – With lots of bands for me to listen to I was not disappointed by Debbie Bond, from Alabama. She bought to the stage skillful guitar playing and a great array of songs from her current album. With Rick ‘Radiator’ on harp and keys playing a wonderful bass left hand. Augmented by Ray Carless on Sax and the re-appearance of Sam Kelly on drums. Debbie has a style of blues that makes you smile as she sings some great lyrics loved The Wishbone Song. In between the music talking in a friendly chatty way as we learnt about the strength and depth of Blues in Alabama, waving the flag for that state this year following on from Lisa Mills in 2014.
Watch the lyric Video below.
The single is available for download if you would like to buy a copy. We are donating proceeds to a number of environmental and social justice organisations.
Last year at Blues on The Farm Bluesdoodles caught up with Debbie for an interesting chat about music and life read what we talked about HERE.

“[Gov’t Mule‘s] songs stomp and wail with unmistakable energy and heft”– NPR
“Warren Haynes is a meaty and masterful slide player, as well as a soulful singer and songwriter”– Rolling Stone
“A band heavy enough to be James Hetfield’s favourite; grungy, gritty and bluesy enough to earn the praises of ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons; and swirly enough to speak loud and clear to the Phishheads who flock to their shows to twirl the night away” – Guitar World
Gov’t Mule On Tour plus New Album, Revolution Come… Revolution Go, and the visit to Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales we all get a chance to hear the new music live!. It’s due for release June 9th via Spinefarm Records. You can pre-order the album here.
The 12-song set, Gov’t Mule‘s 10th studio outing, was recorded primarily with long-time collaborator Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar) in Austin, Texas, but the musicians also worked on a pair of tracks with Don Was, with whom Haynes recently toured as part of the recent The Last Waltz 40th anniversary tour.
“It’s about looking back at your life and family and changes,” Haynes explains, “and the general message is you never go back home — not in the literal sense of the word, but things have a way of growing in their own directions, and you wake up one day and look at everything you’ve been through and think, ‘Wow, how did I get here?’ It’s a journey and you look back on it. I’m very grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had, but it’s been a wild ride and in some ways has gone so much quicker than I would ever expect. Thankfully, I’m still going strong and my career’s as good as it’s ever been. I’m thankful for that.”

Bad Touch – the 5-piece rock band from Norfolk recently released their second studio album “Truth Be Told”. The album features the single“99%”remixed for radio by the legendary Rolling Stones engineer and co-producer, Chris Kimsey. The album celebrates classic rock with Southern boogie influences, with heavy guitar riffs and an iron-clad, tight rhythm section, in the great tradition of Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin. We loved the album and the boys are even better live Bluesdoodles said “This is definitely a classic rock with the heat of the south, with finger-licking good guitar and tasty spicy vocals that make this album destined to excite the listener.” Read more HERE
Mollie Marriott, daughter of former Small Faces and Humble Pie singer/guitarist Steve Marriott and step-daughter to singer Joe Brown has spent her music career in the wings, having worked mostly as a backing singer with numerous artists including Oasis and Joe Brown.
Mollie’s sassy soulful blues vocals are full of classic influences. She can find a raw emotional edge that the best soul and rock singers have – at times rootsy and upscale through to modest and classy with a sustained relaxed feel.

Following her critically acclaimed Fire On The Floor UK tour in November 2016, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, Beth Hart will perform three exclusive solo concerts in beautiful settings during October and November 2017.
The concerts will take place in Leeds Town Hall (Monday 30th October), The Forum, Bath (Wednesday 1st November) and Coventry Cathedral (Friday 3rd November).
Sultry blues, jazzy influences, rocking tunes and touching ballads; Beth Hart does it all!
Walking, Talking Singing Beth Hart Wins Colston Hall Hearts – Tonight we were enchanted under the spell of Beth’s aural seduction her vocals purred, growled and beseeched as she filled the hall with warmth, sadness and hope. Beth Hart tonight delivered more than a song, more than a show it was open, heart-rending connecting to us on an individual level. Tonight was music therapy for everyone.
Other plaudits include:-
“Beth Hart has a blues-rock voice so ballsy, it could pin you to the wall.” The Times “Beth Hart is a phenomenon.” – Rockshot “With Beth Hart, you get a versatile, genre-defying powerhouse of a vocalist and one of the great female singers of our time.”– National Rock Review
Beth’s first solo gig at London’s Union Chapel (subsequently voted by fans as the venue’s gig of the year). “It was the most terrifying experience of my entire life,” she admits. “I got up there and I was so frickin’ scared. But then, halfway through the show, I just started to enjoy it. By the end, I felt so connected to the audience, and I really felt like they did that show with me. It was like we were all the band.” Her current acclaimed album, Fire On The Floor is sure to build on her breakneck momentum. The record gave her an emotional release following the bitter-sweet sessions for Better Than Home. Fire On The Floor is the album that Beth Hart needed to make. Likewise, it’s a record that you need to hear. “I’m so pleased with it,” she concludes. “I recently had to organise the sequence of the record, and while I was doing that, I was thinking to myself, ‘Y’know, this is pretty frickin’ good…!’” Everyone at Bluesdoodles thought the album was super – here is what we wrote follow the link HERE Bluesdoodles album of 2016 – Fire On The Floor.
The set from Erja at HRH Blues in Sheffield this Easter was a highlight of the festival “High class set from the renowned queen of the blues slide guitar. In the set is Black Ocean for me a highlight and favourite on the album now a live favourite as prog meets blues under the charms and skills of Erja. We joined her on the rocking Chair, sang along with Stolen hearts. Then the trained steamed up the hill with her interpretation of Tina Turner’s Steamy windows. This was blues that sparkled as Erja smiled, played and won our hearts.”

There is simply no compromise, which is strongly evident in his music. After 30 years his explosive guitar playing and unique songs are now being compared with the greats of his genre and have firmly established him in the European venues & festivals as well as gaining many fans of hard blues rock worldwide.“
Bluesdoodles thoroughly enjoyed Rob Tognoni at HRH Blues 2016 we said “Sunday Brunch, was hardcore not for the faint-hearted this was rock heavy blues from the Tasmanian Devil himself Rob Tognoni. He tore up the main stage what a start to the second day of HRH Blues.“
Bad Touch Supporting The Kentucky Headhunters on their October UK Tour
Following their recent UK tour supporting King King, and their Planet Rock Roadstars UK tour with Broken Witt Rebels, Bad Touch are pleased to announce they will support the KentuckyHeadhunters on their October 2017 On Safari UK Tour.
This marks the second time that Bad Touch will tour the UK supporting The Kentucky Headhunters (they first toured with them in the UK in July 2016). Both bands got on so well last time, they decided to do it again.
Says Richard Young, the guitarist and vocalist for the Kentucky Headhunters – “We first met Bad Touch when they were chosen as our support act after my son John Fred’s young band, Black Stone Cherry, convinced us to do our first-ever UK tour in 2016. In a mere week of touring, the Headhunter’s and Bad Touch became like a band of brothers. There is a certain charm and charisma between the two bands that transcends to the fans of both bands, on stage and off. We’re proud to announce their return for this year’s October UK dates. Simply put, it wouldn’t be the same without them.”
Truth Be Told: Bluesdoodles said – The trio of tracks are triumphant but the question can they maintain the momentum interest and rawness that is chiseled and shaped into a rock classic Truth Be Told. I will let you into the secret Yes, they can and definitely do on the bands sophomore album. Every one of the dozen tracks on the album brings its own link in the musical ride around a fairground of musical pleasures to explore. Read the rest of the review HERE
Grammy award-winners, the Kentucky Headhunters, according to the RIAA, have sold over 11 million albums worldwide, will perform tracks from their latest album On Safari. Rich in southern rock, the Headhunters’ new album tips the hat to family and the southern way of life in the USA.
The Kentucky Headhunters Invite The U.K. On Safari, with Bad Touch in October.
Bluesdoodles loved the album “On Safari, is a jukebox of sounds that never crash and burn, they all fit into the album” Why the Album title On Safari? The music is taken from the inspiration gained on their first time trip overseas. Pushed out of their comfort zone by Richard’s son John Fred Young they traveled to Europe. The result is music that sparkles with the excitement of traveling and being On Safari. Band members/brothers Richard and Fred Young poignantly lost their father just three days before heading into the studio to record the album, which they have dedicated in his memory. Bad Touch’s album Truth Be Told, recorded at Mwnci Studios in Wales, features the single 99%, remixed for radio by the legendary Rolling Stones engineer and co-producer, Chris Kimsey.
