Michael Schenker says, “It’s a miracle that after all these years, a tour like this will take place with the original band members of “M.S.G.”. Being able to go back to those days and celebrate the music is an exciting experience for us, as well as for old and new fans. To being able to re-experience, and for the new audience to get a feel of what it was like, is incredibly enjoyable.”

Continues Schenker, “It’s an amazing feeling to have all of my M.S.G. Family from the ’80’s performing together and especially with Graham Bonnet, who I never got to play any concerts after our Assault Attack album that was originally released in 1982. Fortunately, being able to have the participation of original M.S.G. members including Gary Barden, Chris Glen (bass) and Ted McKenna (drums) being part of it, and to perform with Robin McAuley and Steve Mann (guitar, keyboards) again as well, is pretty awesome.”

The traditional poem we all learn in the playground about Magpies starts with One for Sorrow. ending with Ten for a Bird, you must not miss …

Bluesdoodles says Ten for a Band – not any band but The Magpie Salute with its ten members one definitely not to miss..

Listen then check out the dates and catch The Answer live.

Unlike the traditional sound of The Answer, ‘In This Land’ has a more contemporary stripped-down folk sound utilising acoustic guitars, mandolins and layered harmonies. It sees the band rediscover their roots and is a paean to the greats of their Northern Irish culture referencing influences such as Van Morrison, Alex Higgins and Rory Gallagher. To coincide with the strong links to home, the track will be released on March 17th – St Patrick’s day.
Says singer Cormac Neeson, “The song is about growing up in Northern Ireland and the sense of cultural identity that such an upbringing spawns. It’s a very colourful and wonderful place, at times contradictory, at times tragic but always unique and oh so memorable. It’s something we’re all very proud of; our little land has been responsible for its fair share of heroes, criminals and stars!”
The single taken from their latest album Solas, which came out late last year and received rave reviews. Team Rock referred to the album as “…an unmistakable, quantum leap forward.  Bluesdoodles loved the album who we reviewed last year check out what we said HERE

Glenn Hughes Back On Tour 2017

Vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter Glenn Hughes is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. Stevie Wonder once called Hughes his favorite white singer.

Glenn Hughes was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Mark III line-up of Deep Purple. He spent key years of his career as the beloved bassist and vocalist of the group, recording on the classic albums: Burn, Stormbringer, and Come Taste The Band. Hughes and other members of Deep Purple were in attendance to receive the honor.

Glenn’s 12th studio album, and his first album in eight years, Resonate was released on 4th November 2016 to great critical acclaim and hit #6 in the Official UK Rock Album Chart.

“My personal connection with my fans while on tour and via the socials networks, daily, is an honour.” – Glenn Hughes

Fight Another Day with Dan Reed Network UK 2017

Dan Reed Network embark on their Fight Another Day UK tour on Wednesday 1st March at the Level 3 Club in Swindon. Special guests on all dates (except Sheffield) is VEGA.

Fight Another Day with Dan Reed Network UK 2017Frontiers Music Srl released Dan Reed Network’s latest studio album “Fight Another Day” on Friday June 3rd, 2016. The album marked a significant and anticipated return of one of the most infectious and gifted bands to come out in the melodic rock world in the second part of the 1980’s.

Originally formed in Portland, Oregon, Dan Reed Network packed out local clubs from late 1984 through 1986 with their compelling mix of musical styles ranging from hard rock, funk and soul.

To coincide with their UK & European tour, Dan Reed Network talk about the concept behind music video for their sublime and exhilarating new single, ‘Champion’

“Champion deals with the concept that we are what we eat, not just our physical health but our soul’s well-being,” says Dan Reed. “It’s about surrounding ourselves with people that feed our dreams, support and push us to be more creative, more alive, and to enjoy the ride.”

“The video portrays the intensity in the eyes of people from every walk of life. Having the band performing in front of the rear projected screens was to immerse those of us who wrote and will be performing this song live to visually state we all live in this bubble of light where every person we meet brings new insights, lessons, strength, and if we’re lucky, wisdom.”

Fight Another Day with Dan Reed Network UK 2017

Fight Another Day “The stars aligned perfectly to have it all come together and make this album, and to have Derek Shulman, who originally signed DRN to Polygram in 1987, once again being in our lives as our co-manager and A&R man, brings us full circle.”

“As for the sound and approach of the album the band and I thought it would be a great experiment and interesting challenge to revisit what endeared the band to so many back in the day and deliver a rock record with funk and soul elements, strong melodies, but this time around incorporate even edgier lyrics while not losing sight that this release needed to be uplifting, infectious, and most of all, powerful when performed live. The title Fight Another Day represents the fact that after 25 years we were able to gravitate back to the passion we discovered playing together all those years ago, and battle once more!”

The band looks forward to the world’s response to this new labour of love and this testament to the bonds of friendship and musical chemistry!

Perhaps there were some sceptics who questioned Mike’s amicable departure from the Royal Southern Brotherhood last year, after two acclaimed albums that took the A-list outfit to the top of the world. Released in 2015, Keep Coming Back is both the explanation and vindication for that decision. “This album brings me back to what it’s all about,” says Mike. “Having fun and playing music you love and believe in. It’s all about the song.”

Meet Albert Castiglia. After five acclaimed albums and decades of blazing blues-rock shows, you might argue that you’ve already made his acquaintance. But by the Florida bandleader’s own admission, Big Dog is the first release to truly get under his skin. “I just wanted to make a record that best represented who I am, as a musician, singer, guitarist and live artist,” explains Albert. “With every release, I’ve come close, but this time, producer Mike Zito helped me nail it. He and label boss Thomas Ruf wanted me to make a raw, rocking blues record. That’s what I’m about. That’s who I am…”

Wilde Blues-Harp in HamburgWill Wilde

Will Wilde picked up his first harmonica at the age of 16 and played it until his lips bled. Weaned on the likes of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Buddy Guy, Wilde grew up steeped in traditional Chicago Blues, yet his focus as an artist remains resolutely on the future.  Wilde fuses his passion for blues with his love of rock. He takes what’s authentic and powerful about the music he grew up loving and introduces the raw energy of bands such as Led Zeppelin, Free and Deep Purple without losing the heart and conviction of the blues.

Due to a recent vocal cord condition with lead singer and guitarist Alan Nimmo, the majority of King King’s November 2016 UK tour dates with special guests Broken Witt Rebels, have been re-scheduled to January, February, March and May 2017. “We will be re-scheduling most of the dates on the UK tour to January, February and March, however, we will commit to the remaining four shows on the November UK tour, beginning at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall (25 November), continuing through to the Live Rooms in Chester (26 November), The Grand Venue in Clitheroe (27 November) and wrapping up in London at Islington Assembly Hall (29 November).”

Back On Tour - November Brings Back King King
In the last six months, the buzz around self-released, Birmingham blues rock band Broken Witt Rebels has reached a deafening roar. So much so that the band have rushed out their latest single, Guns, to capitalize on fan-driven interest. The official video for Guns has generated almost 400,000 views on YouTube in less than 48 hours.

Chosen by the fans, Guns is now the second single to be taken from the band’s <strong>Georgia Pine EP. Produced by Tom Gittins (Robert Plant), the previous single, Low, was a featured track of the week on Radio X, and play-listed on Planet Rock, who are currently playing Guns.

GUNS pays homage to their hometown of Birmingham with a melody and energy that tears through you, with the refrain. “Born and raised where Guns are made, they burn bright like a cigarette.”

The Birmingham four-piece is comprised of James Tranter (guitar), Danny Core (vocals), Luke Davis (bass) and James Dudley (drums). Their bluesy southern swagger has drawn favourable comparisons with Kings of Leon, Alabama Shakes and The Black Keys.

THE TUBES MONDO PULP 2016 UK TOUR

tubes_pulp_poster

The Tubes, the San Francisco-based rock band, whose eponymous 1975 debut album included the unforgettable rock anthem “White Punks on Dope,” celebrates their return to the UK with their “MONDO PULP TOUR” – 12 nights of non-stop mayhem in the UK in October 2016.

“We’re thrilled to be coming back to the country that started it all for us,” says the Tubes frontman Fee Waybill. “I embrace my British heritage; the beer and the fish and chips and the best rock and roll fans in the world.  The all-new Mondo Pulp Tour will be big fun!”

Founding member and drummer, Prairie Prince, who is also a well-respected graphic designer in his own right, has created a stunning tour poster to break in the Mondo Pulp 2016 Tour.

The band’s over-the-top theatrical visual live performances are known to rock fans worldwide for their quasi-pornographic and satiric take on the media, consumerism, and politics, celebrated by lead singer Fee Waybill’s deranged on-stage characters, including the larger-than-life fictitious platform-booted, drugged out British glam rock star Quay Lewd.

In 1977 The Tubes toured the UK, but many of their shows were banned due to British censorship. In February 1978 they released the ground-breaking live album What Do You Want From Live – recorded at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in November 1977, followed by their UK television debut on The Old Grey Whistle Test.

The Tubes are best remembered for their 1983 single She’s a Beauty, a top 3 U.S. hit single bolstered by a frequently-played music video in the early days of MTV.

The current line-up of The Tubes features four original members – Fee Waybill (lead vocals), Roger Steen (guitar), Rick Anderson (bass) and Prairie Prince (drums), plus David Medd (keyboards), the latter has played with the band since 2006.

The Mondo Pulp tour is a fantastic tribute to the Pulp Art era. The material will be different but the band promise to perform all the hits and fan favourites – What Do You Want From Life?, Mondo Bondage, Amnesia, Sushi Girl, Don’t Wanna Wait Anymore, Talk To Ya Later, She’s A Beauty and White Punks On Dope.
