The Value of Local Music Venues in The UK

Support Music Venues

The Music Venue Trust/Music Venue Alliance have been asked by government to create the economic case for grassroots music venues, by getting some evidence on the economic activity that takes place because they exist. We are doing this in partnership with UK Music by asking people to take part in an incredibly short and simple survey – just six questions, all multiple choice, it takes less than a minute to do.

Take the survey NOW HERE

Music Venue Trust really need your support to ensure that thousands of people complete the survey. The more responses we get, the more credibility we can attach to the evidence. Please could you help by disseminating this to your social media, fanbases, databases, attaching it to your communications, asking your clients/artists/bands to do the same, spreading the link as far and wide as possible?

1,000 answers would be ok
5,000 answers would be great
10,000 answers would be excellent
100,000 answers would be extraordinary

Passionate about Music Venues there is more you can do…

This is important to Save our Music Venues – that are closed down through noise abatement notices.
I have just written via email to my MP, [Find your MP and Contact details HERE] see copy below, and would urge everyone else to flood their LOCAL MPs with a similar email (you must add your full name and address).
“I am disturbed by the amount of music venues which are closed down through noise abatement notices. However, if the country adopted the Agent of Change principal (AoC) it could all change.
If developers build flats and houses near an existing music venue, the AoC principal would force the developers to be responsible for protecting the residents from noise and not leave the onus on the venues as is currently the position. So, Mr Loughton, would you support amendments to the Housing and Planning Bill submitted in the name of Lord Stevenson of Balmacara (amendment numbers 99 and 100 in the marshalled list) which would introduce the very limited protection into UK law of the Agent of Change.
Thank you.”
